The birth of Pace & Mercieca Ltd comes from an agreement between Carmelo Mercieca and Hugo Pace.

Operating from Jettis Wharf warehouse, Marsa.

The business was fully transferred to the heirs of Carmelo Mercieca’s sons; Joseph Mercieca and Francis Mercieca.

Joseph Mercieca’s sons and daughter gradually join the business, seeking to expand their firm’s standing in the market.
1972
Requisition order by the government to vacate the PM warehouses at Jettis Wharf to make way for the Malta Ship Building Dock.
1980
The company acquired the building at Zerafa Street, Marsa and converted it to house the offices of Pace & Mercieca, part timber warehouse and hardware store giving birth to PM Hobby DIY Centre.
1990
William and Alexander Mercieca acquired full ownership of the company and a restructuring followed which created the office administration, Timber department, DIY Centre and the Wholesale department.
1992
The company purchased five tumoli of land at Mriehel to house all the timber activities.
1995
Renovations on the PM Hobby DIY super store was completed with a shopping area of 1200 sqm, a unique DIY outlet of that size at the time.
2000
2003
New shelfing system in the Mriehel timber warehouse installed for more efficiency.
2010
Construction underway on the extension of the Mriehel premises.
2015
With the move, PM Hobby underwent another milestone with the introduction of home products and kitchen showroom.
